Its eight barrels were engineered to fire simultaneously, launching a vast amount of metal skyward with each cycle of its colossal bolt. It would have required a crew of 3-4 to operate. The aiming controls were managed by the crewman in the right seat, while the loader(s) were positioned on the rear platform. Charging handles, located on either side of the breech block, were accessible from the rear platform. The technological and manufacturing hurdles in ensuring all eight chambers fired successfully and safely at a high rate led to its role as a future museum piece, rather than a battlefield weapon.
