One Patient's Journey: When Love Heals

This book is about One Patient's Journey. To all who have walked with cancer, this book is dedicated to you! When you're diagnosed with cancer, you are recognized by your diagnosis date and your social security number. Those two dates become your "Dog Tag" throughout your journey. When you go from one institution to the next institution, be prepared to always know your "Dog Tag Dates" (DTD). When you receive your "DTD's your battle has begun. The war against cancer has hit your home. Now it is time to pick up your Dog Tags and put on the complete Armor of God. You got this. All are warriors and heroic survivors. My diagnosis date was April 19, 2006, and so my "DTD" also became my "celebration day"- the day I celebrate every patient’s journey. Every year I celebrate the victory of being healed and reaching my "Celebration Day". This cross we carry not only had to be carried, but it had a name on it. My cross had a birthday and it carried my social security number; it was my "DTD". My cross was so big. It came to destroy me, my family, my loved ones, and my world as I knew it; all in a split second. It would make me tired, sick, and nauseous. I would be so sick, I wouldn’t want to get up in the mornings. I was unable to sleep at night and the discomfort from the pain was nearly unbearable. That was what this walk included, but with God I was able to find comfort. While bearing my cross I would lose it all- my health, my finances, and my health insurance. Little did I know, losing it all would become my blessing. I had to turn to God and his healing. Gods love would heal me and teach me "Self Love". I would have to change my lifestyle.
